== Lesson Plan ==

PLEASE NOTE: This is a writing assessment to determine what students remember and how they follow a rubric. Please limit assistance for all students including special education students. There will be an opportunity to revise their grade at the end of the process. We would like to see what each student can accomplish according to the rubric for a DBQ essay. This will determine future lessons for writing on a whole class instruction and individual basis.

Day 1:

Procedure:
# Complete Do Now/Opening Move (10 Min)
# Hand out DBQ Documents, have students work in groups to complete their documents, if not completed students should finish for
homework. Which will be checked for a completion grade. 0 = not completed, or # of docs completed for up to thirteen (13) total
points. So if a student completed six (6) documents, their homework score is 60%.
----

Day 2:

Procedure:
# Check to see if students completed their documents. If not, please score on homework roster according to the grading above (homework
roster attached).
# Give students a rubric and a writing paper. Students should use rubric as a guide.
# Students should begin to write their essay, by end of day should have introduction, and one (1) body paragraph complete. If students
have not completed introduction and body paragraph, they will be responsible to complete for homework. Student will receive fifty
(50) points for Introduction and fifty (50) points for Body Paragraph #1.
----
Day 3:

Procedure:
# Check to see if students completed their introduction and body paragraphs. Note scoring above and indicate on Homework Roster.
# Students should complete second body paragraph and analyzing paragraph. If students have not completed introduction and body
paragraph, they will be responsible to complete for homework. Student will receive fifty (50) points for Body Paragraph #2 and fifty
(50) points for Analyzing Paragraph.
# Students will complete Conclusion at home with essay being due on Monday, September 19th, 2016. Students will have opportunity to revise for a better and final grade after they are scored and analyzed.
