Classwork & Homework
Day #1:
Lesson Activity:
- Students will use vocabulary for each of the following turning points.
- Neolithic Revolution
- Dark/Middle Ages
- Renaissance
- Enlightenment
- Age of Exploration
- Age of Imperialism (Old)
- Age of Absolutism
- Choose One Other
- Students will will write definitions, and then a paragraph explaining the turning point using the vocabulary and the 5W's, and what occurs before, during, and after.
Day #2:
- Discuss the Global Vocabulary Words put on your word wall.
- Defend any questionable word.
- Create a Chart of the Global Vocabulary Words from Each Turning Point
- Add the 5W's to the Chart
- Add What occurred before, during, and after the Turning Point
Day #3:
- Create paragraphs to explain (historical context) of the Turning Point
- Use at least 5 of the Global History Vocabulary Words in your paragraphs

Special Education Modifications
- Teaching Model: Co-Teaching
- Special Education Teacher will work with All students General Ed and Special Ed.
- Special Ed Students:
- Teacher will read-aloud to students when necessary.
- Teachers will break down assignments into smaller tasks.
- Teachers will work with students on vocabulary acquisition by breaking down words into prefixes/suffixes and etymology.
- Teachers will group students according to learning style inventory as a homogeneous group.
- Teachers will keep students on-task by managing distractions and on-task behavior.
- Teachers will modify note-taking by modeling notes from PowerPoint to chalkboard/whiteboard.
- Teachers will differentiate lessons by using; verbal cues for auditory learners, graphic organizers for visual learners, and hands-on cues for tactile learners.
